We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with a strong background in Probate, Trust Administration, and Guardianship to join our Fort Myers office. This is a senior, ownership-driven role designed for someone who can independently manage cases from start to finish.

This position is ideal for a steady, detail-oriented professional who values accountability, follow-through, and long-term case management in emotionally complex matters. This is not a training or entry-level role.

Key Responsibilities

Probate & Trust Administration

  • Draft and file probate and estate administration pleadings
  • Prepare asset inventories and fiduciary accountings
  • Coordinate asset transfers, retitling, and beneficiary distributions

Guardianship

  • Prepare and file petitions for appointment of guardian (Person and Property)
  • Assist with Initial, Annual, and Final Guardian Reports and Accountings
  • Monitor court deadlines, compliance requirements, and hearing schedules
  • Coordinate service of process and communications with court-appointed professionals
Client & Case Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and families
  • Maintain organized, accurate case files and documentation
  • Communicate with attorneys, courts, financial institutions, and third parties
  • Ensure deadlines, follow-ups, and compliance requirements are consistently met

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Probate, Trust Administration, and Guardianship
  • Familiarity with Florida court filings, deadlines, and procedures
  • Experience with fiduciary accounting, including bank reconciliations and court-mandated accountings
  • Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional, compassionate communication skills for emotionally sensitive matters
  • Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office (Clio experience a plus)
This Role Is a Strong Fit If You

  • Prefer ownership and autonomy over close supervision
  • Are comfortable managing long-term cases with consistent follow-through
  • Take pride in clean, accountable work and meeting deadlines
  • Have experience supporting families through complex and emotional processes
This Role Is Not a Fit If You

  • Require step-by-step instruction or extensive training
  • Are transitioning from litigation or general legal support without PBTA experience
  • Prefer short-term matters or high-variety work without long-term responsibility

At Safe Harbor Law Firm, we protect families, preserve legacies, and guide clients through some of life’s most important decisions with clarity and compassion.
Compensation: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
